Google’s New World

I was sat at home the other evening reading a news article about how Google docs had signed up one of the largest banks in Spain to use their software and this got me wondering about all the applications that Google have and are developing and then to consider what the future will hold.

Volcanic uses Google docs to produce and share documents all hosted in the cloud, we use Google mail to manage our email solution. we have just moved to Google plus to promote our business, we are on the search engine almost constantly to reseach and advertise, we use Picassa to store our pictures, we use Google’s YouTube to promote our services and we use Google Chrome to surf the net. The only thing we use that is not in fact Google’s are our Apple machines but we did consider buying a Google laptop (no doubt one day we will) and our phones but even the iphone is not safe from Google’s mobile solution.

As we use these services we are noticing that they are starting to allign, the various systems are merging to make it easier to embed elements into each other for example Google Plus circles appeared in the mail system the other day and it is also is rumoured that Google’s Picassa is soon to compete with Flickr as a source in which to store photographs.

Soon if Google continues we won’t need any other company or software. Certainly Microsoft no longer exists in our world, Apple and Adobe products remain and from a services point of view only Twiter, Facebook and LinkedIn are left.

Google’s world dominance remains confirmed but people said this about Microsoft a number of years ago and you would never have considered it possible that they may fall below Google!
